Sunday, September 21
  • Jody Blyth (board member of Nature Saskatchewan) and her husband Clint have invited anyone who would like to visit and/or walk on their property to join them on Sunday morning. Jody and Clint steward land 6 miles south of Fleming which is 25 km SE of Moosomin. With over 4,100 acres under conservation easements with NCC and DUC, there is a lot to see. September is a good time to see turtles, both Western Painted and Snapping and to hear the majestic sound of elk bugling. They are on a flight path staging area of Sandhill Cranes. More information will be given about this opportunity on Saturday evening and all are welcome to attend and enjoy!

Tour of NCC property - Fort Ellice

Everyone will head to Fort Ellice for the day. We will be carpooling to the site and once there have a few different options to explore. Fort Ellice is a species-rich area comprised of mixed grass prairie, aspen forests, riverbank and floodplain forests, sandhill prairie and sand dunes, wetlands, streams, freshwater springs and willow shrublands. More information about Fort Ellice can be found here.

The host hotel for the weekend will be the Moosomin Canalta Hotel. A block of rooms is being held at the Canalta Hotel until August 31.  Please mention Nature Saskatchewan when booking your room (1-306-435-3034).

Please note: All attendees will be going on the same tour so there is no need to select a tour option when registering.
