Nature Saskatchewan Welcomes Peter Brown as New Executive Director

Nature Saskatchewan is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Brown as the new Executive Director. Brown brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for conservation and a deep love of nature to the organization.

About Peter Brown

Peter Brown was born on a hog and cash crop farm in Southwestern Ontario. He received an undergraduate degree in Agriculture from the University of Guelph majoring in Crop Science and minoring in International Agriculture. Peter began his career as an assistant Agriculture Representative with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food working with farmers on financial statements and dairy nutrition. Later he joined one of the major banks as an Agrologist, then a commercial account manager and, eventually, Director of Agriculture in the bank’s Toronto headquarters. Peter moved then to another bank working on special programs and marketing to farmers before coming west to Saskatchewan. For the past 8 years he and his family have resided in Regina. During most of his time in Saskatchewan, Peter worked with dairy producers as General Manager of Saskmilk. Peter is married with a 20-year old daughter and teenage son. Peter has always had a love of nature and has spent a great deal of time hiking in local parks, particularly Conservation Authority parks in Ontario. Running, travelling and reading are his other hobbies.

“We are very pleased to have Peter heading up our organization. His experience and leadership skills will fit well with Nature Saskatchewan's expanding work in the conservation field.” Said Lorne Scott, President of Nature Saskatchewan.

A Fond Farewell to Jordan Ignatiuk

As we welcome Peter Brown, Nature Saskatchewan also extends heartfelt gratitude to Jordan Ignatiuk, who has served as Executive Director for the past 12 years. “Under Jordan's guidance Nature Saskatchewan expanded conservation work and took on new challenges while being a Voice for Nature in Saskatchewan” said Lorne Scott. Jordan's dedication and vision have been instrumental in positioning Nature Saskatchewan as a leader in conservation. We thank him for his unwavering commitment and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Looking Ahead

With Peter Brown at the helm, the organization is poised to continue its mission to engage and inspire people to appreciate, learn about and conserve Saskatchewan's natural environment. Nature Saskatchewan is confident that Peter's leadership will inspire new initiatives and collaborations that will further its impact and reach.

We invite members and the wider community to join us in welcoming Peter Brown and celebrating Jordan Ignatiuk's remarkable contributions to the organization.
